The Writers-Editors Network International Writing Competition is now in its 34th year, and I've chaired the poetry category for over 15. So when I say how well-run the contest is, believe it! The judges work hard to give thorough readings of each entry, and, unlike most contests, they post comments on the winner's list, telling why each manuscript won. We believe this extra step will help you to improve your fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and children's manuscripts.
Most important, the competition is "blind," which means the judges have no idea who's entered what. If, for some reason, they see a poem or manuscript they've critiqued or otherwise seen before, they automatically put that entry into the "no" pile.
This year's guidelines will give you more information, but be sure to send in your entries before the annual deadline of March 15. We're looking forward to seeing your best work!
Today’s Bible verse from Bible Gateway reminds us that, if we really love God, we’ll love our brothers and sisters in Christ, whether we like them or not!
Prayer-a-phrase of 1 John 4:20-21:
Love God. Love the children of God
May this New Year be filled with our ongoing praise of God and prayers in Jesus’ Name. And, like, Jesus, let's pray the Psalms.

Hope, Peace, Joy, Love – such glorious gifts! May God help us to receive them to the full each day of each New Year. May God help us to re-gift them and exchange them - back and forth - with one another in Jesus’ Name. http://thewordcenter.blogspot.com/2016/12/4-gifts-from-christ.html
The poems in Faces in a Crowd reminds us how much alike we are, even in our differences. These glimpses into human nature, spiritual matters, and our relationships with one another come alive in free verse, prose poems, and traditional poetry forms.
Welcome! I'm a lifelong lover of Christ, the Bible, church, family, prayer, and poetry, so I've written about those in over 2,000 articles, children's stories, devotionals or poems and 28 traditionally or indie published books. I also help other poets, pastors, and writers improve devotionals, sermons, poems, children's picture book texts, and book proposals for a minimal fee. For more info, see the Contacts & Critiques page.
