Actually, I can't not write! It's almost as vital to me as breathing, sleeping, eating, and loving life, but this urge to communicate is especially strong when it comes to my writing poems and prayers.
As you know, poetry lovers have always been comparatively few, but readers of all genres have drastically declined in recent years. Eventually, the pendulum might swing, but in the meantime, I feel very blessed when people who don't normally read poems respond well to mine.
An even greater blessing comes when other Christian poets and writers respond well to our work through their uplifting reviews on Amazon and/or their own blogs. What a joy to be so encouraged!
This week, Christian poet and writer Glynn Young posted another of his perceptive book reviews in his discussion of my new poetry book, Lost in Faith. His 5-star on Amazon elevated my spirits too!
I mention this to encourage my encouragers and to let each of you know how much these encouragements mean to me and others who write. This very week, for example, when Glynn's review came out, I was struggling with the worth of my work and whether to keep going in the face of such troubling changes in publishing. But, as I said in the beginning, grace of God keeps me going! Surely Glynn and other insightful reviewers are part of that good grace.
